I am sure I should not be doing this, but I am writing this while 30,000 feet up in the sky. I was glancing over an article in a magazine a little while back about travel statistics and safely.

We have always heard the safest travel method is flying and getting in a car is far more dangerous.

This article just confirmed this fact and also mentioned that a bicycle was in fact the most dangerous form of transportation. It did however give some metrics about air travel that got me thinking.

Those who were born after the 80s may have heard of Lynyrd Skynyrd or at least the songs Lynyrd Skynyrd is known for such as Free Bird or Sweet Home Alabama.
