The Vought F4U Corsair was a military plane that was used heavily in both World War II and the Korean War. This fighter plane was first delivered to the United States Navy in 1940. In all, more than 12,000 F4U Corsair aircraft were produced by Vought. With 16 separate models of this plane, it had the longest production run of any piston-engined fighter in U.S. history.
